The zealand valley and eastern pemi wilderness always peaks first in the national forest in the Whites. I went up yesterday, and found some great color. Really gonna be a nice year!
Other areas will peak over the next few weeks...probably plan on foliage being a bit early this year...

Wow, there is a ton of color Jim.
"I went up yesterday, and found some great color. Really gonna be a nice year!" Is there ever a bad year in NH?
I took a cruise around Stowe, VT today. A week or so ago I thought things would be really early this year but now I'm thinking they look pretty close to normal with peak falling sometime next weekend or the week after even. Color right now is highly elevational, good color popping at and above 1,200-1,600 feet.
Shots look nice by the way.

You must be tired from all that hiking Jim. Photos look great, I especially liked the first one which had trees on either side giving balance. I'll be heading up north tomorrow, I hope I can get some decent pictures.I stayed around town this weekend and got this shot in a nearby stream.the reflections on the top were probably caused by the ripples in the water and lighting, and added a nice abstract atmosphere.BobG
Really nice shots Jim. Love the third one especially! I only wish the peak colors would last just a bit longer.

Hi Dotty,
The trailhead is at the end of zealand road, in twin mountain, about a half hour from lincoln. The hike is about 3.5 miles, but the first 2.5 is flat. The last part goes up about 1000 feet in a mile...not terribly steap, but steady.
If you've never been to the zealand valley, I'd highly reccommend it, it's one of my favorite places in the whites.
Take Zealand trail to Twinway by way of Zealand Falls AMC hut.
