I have a chance to rent a place during that time near Acadia. Can someone tell me when good foliage usually starts in that area? I need to know in the next few days.
Thanks.

Allan,
Best time is week of Columbus Day, which I believe is October 12th.

That is what I have been hearing. Since the cottage is available 10/1 - 10/8 I give it a go.

the annual reference date for the best foliage at acadia is October 20th. I have been there 2 or 3 time around that date it really is the peak time. That does not mean you will not find good color in isolated spots of a ways inland. The is a great place anytime of the year!
