I have used metal in the past, but wanted to try wood. I get them from a supplier who cuts and notches the corners. I would have to put them together, glue them etc. Going with basic black, white mats with a black core.
I cut my mats and buy glass and can cut that as needed. Glass scared me at first, but it was not too bad.
Just checked out some self calculating sites... for wood... No can do!

Barbara,
Not quite sure what your question is. Metal vs. Wood for gallery acceptance? price, look? etc....
TONS of resources out there, so I'm assuming you've been scouring the web. I've been doing the same as I'm currently in the process of framing/matting prints for a show next month. I settled on some 1.5"w simple black wood frames from framedestination.com. Already assembled.
There's the standard americanframe.com, lightimpressionsdirect.com, etc. and like I said, tons of sources on the web for frames.
In the end, for the size and style I wanted (30x34") I ended up with the wood frame and in this particular case are cheaper that the aluminum frames I was looking at.
Hope this helps, but maybe a few more specifics would help.
That helps a lot. I will check out that site. I have looked at American Frame. It is the price that hurts, but I found that I have plenty of foam board and some matboard from before. I prefer wood and would need to get the point gun. Will keep on looking and thanks for your info.

The gallery is not all that crazy about wraps.
Any input will be appreciated.

Very reasonable prices:
framedestination.com
documounts.com
