I have been watching and filming the local osprey nests for months now and today was a big day, many of the juveniles took off and left the nests, this one is the second of 3 young and this is pretty much his/her first flight. He/she flew into a nearby tree, not without incident!
Overhead were four more ospreys soaring and presumably watching the show. Seven birds at one time is a record for me.
The third young one flapped and preened but still hadn't been brave enough to fly when I had to leave.
I can only wish them well on their journeys! I'll miss them.
