My vote is a juvenile European Starling, based mostly on how far back the legs are set on the body of the bird. But I'm not very good at birds over on the left coast.

I would agree with Jim. Juv. starling.

This is what I was thinking - based on the body shape - but the beak was throwing me off. When I looked at it again just now, I noticed there is a different pattern on the breast - a sort of spottiness which would coincide with the starling. Thanks for the help.

Luke,
Thanks for the job offer but only if they are on fire, which I do not want to happen.

Good evening. Nice picture and I can tell you without a doubt that it is a bird, I think. Sorry no help with the id from me.
I think with your VAST knowledge of identifying vertebrates, we can get you a job in D.E.P.
Thanks for the job offer but only if they are on fire, which I do not want to happen.
