Went over to Sugar Hill last night, caught an okay sunset and a spectacular sunrise. I'll be posting a few in the main forum, but wanted to give an update here.
The main field is better than last year, but nowhere near the density of three years ago. It looked good, but reviewing the pictures did show alot of unblooms that I ignored while there...probably will peak this week. The church field is dense, and as of this morning...fairly untrampled. Lower elevations near the pond were at peak, and bottoms beginning to seed out.
Here's sunrise...and look for others later in the main forums!
Like the haze and the lighting, but not thrilled with the amount of blooms. Went about five years ago and there were massive amounts of lupines. I'm heading there next weekend. Drop me an email if you think I should cancel and wait til next year.
Hmmmm...I don't think you should cancel...if for the only reason that sugar hill isn't the only field in the game. Jefferson/Randolph/Gorham should just be getting going next weekend...and that's where I hope to go...
Oh, and Pat, last year, or perhaps the year before you posted a beautiful field of lupines near the Maine border that looked up to some mountains...just a stunning scene. Any chance you remember where that was, or better yet, could find it on google maps?
Thanks,
Jim

Pat we missed you! Linda had you on the email list so I thought that you were going to be there this weekend -- it was great! http://breaphotos.blogspot.com/
Jim: Last year I followed Rt. 2 across New Hampshire into Maine. I know it was near the border, but looking at the map it might have been in Maine where Rt. 2 makes a sharp northern turn. I will be in the Franconia area Friday and Saturday and then Sunday follow Rt. 2 again and take closer notes as to where that field was. It was behind a motel. I'll keep an eye out for you.
Lisa: I didn't know about the trip until I received that email. I am heading north again and had to wait until school was out... therefore the timing is better for me this weekend. I hope to see you at NECCC Conference
Was going to add a picture, but system won't seem to take it. Doesn't tell me why.
