I'm contemplating a June visit to this region, not for moose, but for boreal bird species. I'm totoally shocked that the Maine Birding book I just acquired does not even have this region at all - only Baxter and Rangeley areas. Targeted species might be the spruce budworm warblers (Cape May, Bay-breasted), spruce grouse, and rusty blackbird. Any suggestions appreciated.

Bay-breasted is easy. Good luck on cape may!! Just drive the roads.

Will there be a workshop type group for this? I am new to this group and from Bangor, Maine which is close to Moosehead and am looking for workshops to attend close to home. Thank you.
