I have the 5D Mark II coming on the way shortly and I need to new lens for my landscape work and I'm torn between the Zeiss 28mm f/2 ZF (with the mount adapter) and Canon's new 24mm f/1.4L II. Has anyone had experience with either of the lenses? I'm getting either one of these to replace my 17-40mm f/4 because I'm fairly certain it isn't doesn't have the resolving capabilities for the 5D Mark II's 21 MP sensor.

If anyone has any other alternative suggestions for a lens that will resolve well enough for that camera input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Ben

Hello! If you don't mind to use MF lenses have a look or ask a question at Alternative Gear & Lenses on fredmiranda.com. There is a lot of people with huge amount of experiences in using both MF and AF lenses altogether on digital cameras. Many replies will follow your question IMO.
But be aware, getting into MF lenses is highly addictive!

I don't have any first-hand experience with either lens, but here is a review of the 24LII that might be helpful.
