We're planning a trip to Alaska next summer. Will be taking a boat tour, a train ride and hiking for a couple of weeks. Especially while on the boat, do I need some type of protective gear for my camera/lens? What would be the best type to keep the camera dry?
Thanks, Karen

Most tour boats have roofed areas, and there should be enough information on your vessel on line to allow you to evaluate the need. The trains are all pretty well covered (and don't offer great photo ops in most cases). If you will be out for any extended period, though, I really like the ThinkTank raincovers. I've used them in some pretty serious weather and they have kept my gear dry. I especially like them with my big lenses.
