Anyone has experience with Giotto's tripod after-sales services and repair?
My tripod (a lava lightweight tripod) is broken and I am trying to get some replacement parts. The tripod was very well built, but had some serious use - so I am not complaining about the tripod itself, but how to get customer service and parts..any idea or experience here?
I don't use Giottos tripods but I do use there ball heads and love them. However I have sent inquires to there email address a couple of times and have never gotten any kind of response. I will most likely continue to use there ball heads because I've never had a problem with them and don't think you can beat them for the price.
Actually I got a response and recently sent my tripod to an address that they provided for repair. Lets see what happens. I also like their products - but yet to test the service. Will post more
I too love Giottos. I have a convertible aluminum tripod and a monopod. Also have pan-tilt and
medium and sliding-macro ball head, and a Giottos quick release between each of these and my
camera bodies. I mounted a Manfroto quick release onto the bottom of my heads (They were
easier to attach in that position), so now everything fits everything. Can't believe how often I
use the pan-tilt with my monopod. Very handy, where either you aren't permitted a tripod or
when you are in heavy traffic, like tour buses and such. I have had two minor failures with
my Giottos equipment. One was a handle failure on the accessory carrying case for the tripod.
They sent me a new case. The other was a broken T handle on the Macro-slide ball head.
One call and they sent out a replacement handle and nut. VERY PLEASED WITH THEM!
