What's the latest news? I keep checking the Avian forum and those slackers haven't posted an image. Some of us landscape photographers may need to do this job ourselves. (We will only post the image if we get an IBW in good light and positioned using the rule of thirds). I see the Macro guys already have a shot of a flea on an IBW's head.
Check out www.birdersworld.com. They have a number of boards on their forum, and a search should yield you some news. Or, if you're bold, you could just pose the actual question and wait for the inevitable debate. Unless, of course, your post here was just intended to pick on those darn avian pukes.
I am 100% in favor of the IBW still living in the SE. The Avian folk seem to need some motivation to get the job done. Perhaps too much time sipping cocktails near the backyard bird feeder? Or waiting for the 1D mark IV ?
What I want to know is why those landscape guys need all of that camouflage? Cammo pants, cammo hat, cammo cameras, cammo tents..... What are they hiding from? Are they trying to "be" the landscape? Maybe they think that another landscaper will see them and will ask for one of their beers?
I heard that the new EPA rounded them all up and moved them into the federal witness protection program to keep them from testifying about the new environmental policies. Come to think of it, I did overhear a couple of shady characters in a fed truck talking about an ivory pecked woodbiller.
We landscapers need the camo clothing so we can hide from you avians. You know, we're pretty careful about who we associate with! Not just anyone can hang with the landscapers!
Charlie, we don't need the training aids - just last week I had to clone out two IBW's because their colors didn't complement the surrounding landscape. They're real camera hogs!
Hey, this is a fun hot topic.
Some get so darn serious. True, that is needed at times.
I am waiting to catch the new members of Florida's landscape, like 3 ft iguanas and such. There are also the pythons recently seen in the Everglades. We have to watch out for gators also as they are looking for water. The Savannas are dry right now.
Well, we had a close call today. We thought another big fire was headed our way here in San Diego. Turns out it was just a big group of landscape guys in a canyon nearby throwing sand around and squirting baby powder in the air trying to ge the lightbeams just right.

I'd rather look for the IBW and the dodo bird....
