I haven't been very active lately due to the birth of a new little girl and my already time consuming two year old. Lately matters of marketing and increasing my photographic earning potential have been occupying the little time I have available at the computer.
Has anyone had any experience with this stock agency? Know anyone who has or heard anything about them? I've been trying to find a suitable agency to represent my images but have been having a hard time deciding which one to submit to. I would love any recommendations or personal experiences you all are willing to share. Thanks
Kurt,
have you joined the Stock Photo Yahoo Group? There used to be discussions about AGE over there. I know that AGE is pretty picky about what they take, at least that's the impression I got from past discussions.
Also take a look at Stockphoto.net
I've heard that they are reputable and if I recall correctly, I was accepted by them awhile back but decided not to join because I didn't like having to make my images exclusive to them. They are an edited collection so the overall collection is probably of higher quality than some others. I know that fellow NPN'ers Gary Crabbe and Enrique Aguirre have images w/ them so maybe you could ask them.
Hi,
AGE are very reputable, but the are one of the smaller agencies (compared to Corbis and Getty), they are a generic agency (as in that they will take all subject matters) and handle both RF and RM images. They do tend to be very selective with their edits and mostly pick less that 10% of submissions, some times none at all, depending on subject matter and style. All the process is electronic via FTP and email (inlcuding sales reports).
Good comments from others. Enrique, great stuff, out of curiosity, are you happy with how you do at AGE? My experience is that a more specialized agency is usually a good idea for nature photographers... minden pictures comes to mind.
You might take a look at ALAMY as another general stock agency.
