You know, I used to shoot Minolta/Sony, but finally, after a decade, made the switch to Canon. Without good solid SSM lenses, I just could hang on to Minolta any longer. They have amazing lenses, and in-body stabilization now, but without SSM, shooting wildlife is easier manual than with AF.

I've got one but haven't used it yet. I'm going to Bosque over Christmas, so will have a better idea then.

If you haven't bought a Sony, think twice about it. They have a track record of
just up and leaving a product line when demand is on the upswing. I know, because
I got stuck when they quit manufacturing PDA's, and when they quit manufacturing
XM radio gear.
