:wavey: Hi everyone, I hope your fall shooting has gone well (or is going well if you are a bit further south).

Here's one from August that I recently got back from the lab (thus, finally got around to scanning and processing it). I always love fog, but seldom get it where I live, so this was a really special moment for me. Having the opportunity to capture it at a complimentary location was iceing on the cake so to speak. Normally you can see for many miles from this overlook, but not on this day. It was wet and heavily gray, nobody sane seemed to be out and about. I hiked in for about 3 miles from a parking lot for the superior hiking trail (a trail that extends along the north shore of lake superior in Minnesota) to get to this spot. About half way to the lake overlook, things began to fog up and remained so for the rest of the evening. There was a sense of complete isolation, I felt in many senses invisible. Nothing made a sound, the silence seemingly having a presence unto itself. Upon arriving at this spot, I stared in awe for an extended period...feeling a bit guilty for the indulgence, and then set up my camera to make a photograph. Sometimes it seems to pay to simply "soak it in" for a bit. Staying as long as I dared and finally took down the camera gear and headed back for the car. Sleep came easily back at camp.

I still have a bit of color work left to do before getting this printed, but this is probably pretty close. Suggestions are always welcome.

Joel

Great shot. I like the fog in it keeping you fixed on the subject by not letting you wander. It looks like you have a great area to shoot. The leaves are starting to really look nice right now where I am. Keep on shooting

Thanks David! And yes, I see no end to the shooting.
