Thursday morning I had the chance to shoot someplace I had not been to before, but is oh so close to home, for me.
The Muskegon Wastewater Management site, just east of Muskegon, MI, sits on roughly 11,000 acres, and is one of the best birding sites in Michigan. Even at this time of year, there were still Egrets and Herons on the site along with Swallows and numerous other birds, large and small.
You can read more about it
here. The web page is a little outdated (2002), but the information about the site itself remains the same.
The directions are not quite correct, so if you are interested in going there at some point in time, email me and I will give you the proper directions.
Registration is required before you drive through, but passes are free. You can obtain a one year pass (free) if you belong to a group. I told them I was part of Nature Photographers and voila! ...a pass was produced!

Thanks for the info Toni. Sounds like a place I will have to check out in the future.
