Last I heard (several months ago) Nikon was planning to come out with the new version of firmware for the D2x in October. Haven't heard or read anything since. Has anyone else heard any tidbits about whether this is still on schedule or not?

Bill - As far as I know from the sources I go to for reliable info on the web, the "Fall" timeframe is still valid. I personally have never seen reference to October specifically but that's obviously in line with "Fall". My guess is that they want to let the new D2Xs sales get some steam up before they provide the update to old owners of the D2X or new owners who wanted to take advantage of the price drop (don't get me started on that - it dropped about 6 weeks after I bought mine!!!!). I'll be sure to send you an email if I hear otherwise. By the way, just got Capture NX and it's working nicely for my requirements. The auto update with the improvements to batch processing worked like a dream so I'm a happy camper with a RAW converter finally.

Nikon just released an update to Nikon Capture, vers 4.4.2. One of the upgrades is support for the comming D2X firmware release. So it should be soon!
