Trillium
Hi Everyone

I am a returning member living in Central, IL. Here is a shot I took at at Cave Park near Altamont, IL. Do many people in the group meet up to shoot together locally?

Nice shot David, the diagonal comp. works well here. I didn't realize that trilliums had a red variety. We only have the large white trilliums in my local area.

Thanks for the compliment. I am not sure how many varieties there are. I said it was a trillium, but I may be wrong. That is what I though it was though.
How are the leaves doing up your way. We are getting some really cool days here. Looking forward to the fall colors. I will be teaching a class at the county conservation district the second weekend of October. It will be the first one I have done that had hands on in the field work. I hope for some nice color to be starting for the participants. I did it that early in the month so they could go shoot on their own during the peak. I took a look at some of you images. There is some really good work there.

The leaves look simular, so it may be. I really need to buy a wildflower ID book, as is I only really have the major local varieties memorized. As far as fall color goes, things are begining to turn in the northern third of Minnesota, that region of the state has been abnormally dry however so I anticipate a quick fall in that area. The central region where I live probably has at least a week to two weeks more life in it, probably closer to two since we've had more rain. I would guess that Illinois would have at least a couple more weeks beyond that even. So the second week of October may work out for you in that regard. It's always a guessing game of course and is effected by the parcipitation level, weather conditions, etc. Best of luck!
