Taken in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon in June.
This is Latourell Falls.

I can't believe there haven't been any comments on this. I have been wanting to get myself over to the Columbia River Gorge but have a hard time making the trip alone.
I think this is beautiful and the saturation of green is what does it for me. Typically I would want to see the top of the falls but I won't complain, I still like it. Good work...
I really want to get out to the pacific northwest and scenes such as this illustrate why. It's almost unbelievably lush. Sweet!

From a distance, the lichen looks almost moss-like and very lush. Interesting; I've not seen this type of lichen before. Very nice!

Very nice Josh, I might just like this one a little better than the one you posted on ESS the other day, and that one was very nice. Sorry I hadn't commented on it until now but were finally getting alot of rain and thats when it's time to play.

Folks,
This is Latourell Falls. Josh did a great job shooting this image. It's quite a tough shot for a number of reasons, mostly because the spray coming down from this almost 300' falls makes it tough to meter & compose without getting drenched. A few years ago I got down right into the stream to use a rock & plant for the foreground. My F100 got so wet it never worked right again., but I did get the shot!.
To retain the white silkiness of the water along with the black rocks isn't that easy either. I learned early that matrix ( or evaluative for Canon folks) gets tricked here.
Paul,---the reason the top of the falls gets cut off is because of the (almost continuous) white sky the just ruins the image( in my opinion).
