Very low key relative to marketing. I am looking for ways to imply "for sale" without actually saying it. This site is unlike most others I have reviewed and I desire to maintain the spirit, the look and feel of the thing.

I like the look of the site but I do think you need to optimize your images. The few I paged through were all over 300k each. Even at cable modem speed they were slow to load.
Otherwise I like the layout.

Attempts at originality in web design usually fail. Your site is breath of fresh air...well done. Some really insightful photography as well.

I believe some of your links are misdirected. The "Selected Sites and Reading" link takes you to the "A Chronological History of Photography" page. And that link points to an image from your gallery I believe.

Well done Doyle. Very professional layout. I agree with the others about the images being slow to load. I'm on a T3 at work, about 10 people in the office this time of day, and the images are still slow to load. Of course the problem could also be bandwidth on your end... how much upstream bandwidth does your server have?

Just FYI: my personal preference is to have a page of thumbnails to select from for viewing rather than being forced to go through every image. You might also consider a less "scripty" (is that a word?) font for the poetic texts. for me it's difficult to read because my eyes are so accustomed to nice boring fonts...

I have made the recommended changes except for the font. All my cards, letterheads, and lables use this font and I don't want to change it. How can I get the site more seen?

Well, I don't know what is happening now, but your site will not even load today.
