We took a short but much needed vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC over the last few days. I shot the sunrise just about every morning, this is the first of the shots that I've processed.

I made it down to Huntington Beach State Park a couple of times, got a couple nice images there as well.... thanks for the tip Richard!!

Thomas, Very dramatic, colorful sunrise. The foreground reflections are a nice touch.

One thing I would do is clone out those dirty little creatures near the horizon I like to call "tourons." Other than that, its a winner

I was really surprised with the amount of "them" wondering around the beach at 6:30 in the morning
I'll see what I can do about the cloning of the "tourons"

Awesome image Thomas even with the human artifacts!

I like this a lot! I've always liked the shapes in the sand on that beach...makes for some good foreground elements. You could probably crop a little from the left and then clone out the "tourons". :toast:

Thanks all for the great comments. Just posted a slightly different version in ES&S minus the tourons

Nice captures. There's nothing wrong with the tourons in the background. I find it makes it more interesting.

I obviously missed any cloud chance, as I just came back from the beach on the 9th. Not one stinking cloud for the 5 days I was there- just a lot of heat and mist- and no decent sunrises for sure. You were more fortunate. These pools are sort of unique though. I stumbled across them only one day, and I had the wrong camera with me.

I would have been one of those folks up at 6:30am. I hit the beach before sunrise every day as well.
