After just running out of ink for my R 1800, I was wanting to get some feedback from others as to what or who they might recommend on getting some ink cartridges from. I would like to look at the equivalent of the Ultrachrome series of inks. Printing on glossy or matte papers. I would also like to look at getting refillable cartidges. My printing needs are mainly personal and family with some light client printing.

Thank you for all feedback!! I've been learning a great deal in all of these forums from everyone.

I've never tried aftermarket inks but have heard several bad reports of clogged heads, etc. If you decide to stay with Epson inks, you might want to try buying them from Atlex.com. By far the cheapest place I've found, and excellent service as well.

Pretty sure using 3rd party inks will void your Epson warranty too - something to take into account.

I have an older Epson 1280 (which uses non-archival ink) and always used Epson inks after one bad experience with a 3d-party ink. However, I just started using *archival* Pantone ink (available through B&H Photo) made especially for the 1280 and am very happy with it.
