Whilst perusing this forum, I noticed that it's a tradition to offer one up every week or so.

This was from last Saturday - I went to an organized shoot at the Wilmot Ohio Wilderness Center (with so-so results).

I got there way early, so I drove down the road about a mile to where I knew there was a bucolic Amish Farm.

Taken from my car window, hand held, with a little Panasonic LX1.

(A year ago, in the same neighborhood, I was run off for trespassing by a raging woman who tried to damage my equipment. So let's say my tactics were the result of a lesson learned.)

Very cool considering the equipment. Are you getting rid of the rest of your stuff now.

I am a sucker for the bucolic stuff. Not only that this is a very peaceful setting.

Quite a nice image.

Jack - that little thang occasionally pulls off a shot. It's really has a remarkable set of features: tiny, 8MP, shoots RAW, Leica Elmarit glass, image stabilization, 16:9 aspect ratio (for a pano effect). Gets real noisy over ISO 200 though. The new model, LX2, is on the way that tackles the noise supposedly.

In all fairness, I did a fair amount coaxing in Photoshop to bring up the shadows and subdue the sky. This would have been killer with traditional DSLR equipment and a tripod.

Bob, I love these kind of images. I think you did a great job composing the scene.

I'm also interested in the LX1. I've been seriously looking at the panasonic line for a camera I can carry around all the time and to shoot family snaps. As you mention, the only thing holding me back is the noise at higher ISO's.

I really think there is a need in the market place for a high quality point and shoot that delivers decent high ISO shots in low light. I hate the look of flashed shots. I'd love to be able to crank the ISO to 1600 and get quality comparable to a DSLR. Hopefully, the LX2 will deliver.
