Oxcart

This image is part of a series of 12 that I recently used in a large format calendar on Africa. The calendar was rewarded 1st Prize in the 2008 International Photography Awards (IPA) last week.

It was shot in Madagascar just after sunrise. I had set up my tripod and basically just waited for someone or something to appear in the frame.

This image was also published as a double page spread in National Geographic.
