The again was on Ardnamurchan Western Scotland. I had seen the deed at this point a couple of days previous. So I took a gamble on them being there again.
It was very late, about 10.20pm I was beginning to think that nothing to happen and just as I was bout to leave heard the undergrowth cracking and the stag came edging its way out of the woodland. I took a few shots then it stopped looking about and started to stare straight at me I was only 30 metres away from it and got a little concerned, because if it came to a race I'm pretty sure I would come second
It just stared for a minute or two them turned and went back into the woodland and disappeared. I was lying full length on the ground in my cammo gear and my hartbeat was nearly deafening me
The light was poor the picture was shot with ISO 640, f2.8, 1/200sec
