On October 4, 2009, the Nature Photographers Network had a Nature Appreciation Day. So that I could participate, after dropping my wife off at the beginning of the Portland Marathon I dashed out to the Bells Mountain Trail in Clark County, Washington, to take this photo. (And then I dashed back into town to greet her at the finish line!)
