The Barred Owl sat in an Oak tree in my neighbors yard for a few days. He was content to sit and watch as I photographed him. He wasn't particularly interesting to observe until a neighbors lap dog approached to see what I was up to. The owl instantly woke up and sized up the dog to see if it might be suitable for a meal.
