The Mountain´s Soul

To get this image, I took a nocturnal trip of 3 hundred Kms to reach the place in the dawn and to capture the light during the sunrise. Arriving close to the place still under the night, I noticed that the snowfalls that had fallen in the last days had been the most intense of the season. All the access roads to the heart of the Mountain range were closed. Temperature was -8ºC. I left my car immobilized in his belt on the road and I followed on foot some kilometers reaching the place that it was intending to photograph, walking illuminated by my lantern and stars. Fortunately I arrived some time before the mountain receives sunrise lateral light.

Once in the place I didn´t have much time to shoot under this light, the cloudy sky was getting denser with low clouds that crossed quickly. The light was special in that dawn, soft and diffuse, illuminating the mountain irregularly between an opening in the sky.

Minutes later, a dense thick fog covered completely the scenery and above determined altitude, for several hours the atmosphere was of dark Winter.

To photograph this one and few other images, I did 750 km, in a total of round trip of 12 hours of duration, a least effort compared to the enchantment provided by the magic of the Mountain range.
