The famous Golden Gate Bridge has been photographed to death. The last time I photographed it, years ago, the weather conditions were plain and "normal". There was nice late day sunlight, but no clouds or fog, and no boats or anything of interest in the water. In short, the bridge looked very similar to the way it looks in many of the photographs that we've all seen of it before.

But, this time, I was pleasantly surprised. Half of the bridge was in nice, soft, late afternoon sun, yet the other half was completely hidden by the dense fog. Half the sky was blue, and the other half white with fog. And, a big cargo ship was steaming under the bridge. All of that added up to a view of the bridge that you don't see everyday, which is exactly what I wanted.
