Bison graze on the The Nature Conservancy's Medano Zapata Ranch below the high fourteeners of the Sangre De Cristo Range. The Ranch is a diverse and wild nature preserve and home to the largest herd of wild bison in Colorado. The mountains in view are Kit Carson Mountain - 14,165', Crestone Needle - 14,191', and Crestone Peak - 14,294'.
