Essence of a Temperate Rainforest

Walking through the woods behind my house, with my two daughters, I came across this incredible scene. Completely unprepared for such a challenging situation, carrying only my Nikon D700 and 24mm f/2.8, I made this shot handheld at ISO 1600 with a shutter speed of 1/20 at f/11. The opportunity to create a great shot may come along when you least expect it. Prepared or not, your best option is to shoot!
