Grass-of-Parnassus

This image was captured in a rocky crevice below Glen Falls outside Highlands, North Carolina. The background was virtually ink black simply from the exposure, even though no fill flash was used. However, there was vegetation behind the flower which may have been slightly visible on some monitors. Those spots were digitially retouched to avoid any possible distraction from the subject, the flower.
