Golden Eagles are relatively common in Colorado, but it is uncommon to see one perched in a tree - they like to soar, and they nest mostly on cliffs and rock outcroppings. This one took little notice of me as I took its picture; I stayed under the tree where it was perched for at least twenty minutes without so much as a sign of agitation from this noble bird.
