Great Blue

I'm really happy with how this photograph came out. For some reason, every time I hit Shark Valley (along the northern rim of the Florida Everglades) the clouds move in and my light is blown. This day was just like all the others, although there were moments of moderate sunshine peeking through the clouds.

This heron was incredibly giving. The bird simply stood its ground and let me get quite close, helping me to compensate for the crap sucking ambient light. If I had better gear, this wouldn't be a big deal. But, given what I do have - I'm happy to have gotten the shot!
