Baby House Finches in Nest

This is the image that won first place in the professional category of "Emerging Life" for the 2006 National Wildlife Magazine competition and is on display at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum as part of the Nature's Best exhibition. Photographed on my front porch in Kettering Ohio with Canon 5D and Canon 100mm macro, Canon 550ex held detached for fill.
