This canyon and rock were uncovered from the floodwaters behind Glen Canyon Dam (Lake Powell) in 2005, following 5 years of drought. As I write (Aug 2007), this area (and thousands like it) is again threatened due to the floodwaters of Lake Powell. Go to www.glencanyon.org for info.
