Mont Blanc, in the French Haute-Savoie Alps, with a height of 4807m. (15,772ft), used to be regarded as the highest mountain in Europe. But times have changed and so has Europe, and Mount Elbrus in Russia now carries that honour. This picture was taken from the top of the Aiguille du Midi, accessible by cable-car from Chamonix, and is a composite of four exposures.
