This black crowned night heron was taking a bath in the water, but mainly just sort of sitting there enjoying the water. I love the red eye, the reflection and the way his plumes stand out and how they meet his reflection. This photograph was taken, on a tripod, with a Canon 20D and a Canon 100-400mm IS lens. AV mode 1/320 sec f8 -1 exposure compensation.
