Northern Flicker Colaptes auratus (red-shafted)
Female Flicker found at Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, a woodpecker, but I've rarely seen one pecking at a tree. They often visit our yard, foraging in the lawn and rapping on our fireplace's tin cover (creates quite the annoying racket!).
Enjoy!
