Phainopepla

This has been a difficult bird for me. They are residents of the Trans - Pecos area of Texas and the Chihuahuan Desert. They are solitary birds that feed mostly on insects and are not abundant in the area where I was. I could never seem to get close to one for a good shot. This is not a great shot but this is such a unique bird I thought I would include it anyway.
