Mono Lake, Lee Vining, California. At sunrise in early March, 2013. The views of the tufa formations around Mono Lake where interesting, however the first thing to get my attention was the backlighting effect looking at the formations away from the water. From this angle they appeared to take on a animated presence and especially the branch of a cedar tree that had landed against them from storm ravages.
