Sparrowhawk feeding on a pigeon

Apparently there is nothing strange in the portrait of a sparrowhawk that has just preyed on a pigeon...but the picture was taken on the sidewalk of a street one block from my house, in the center of the town, with cars and people passing only a few meters far!
I had the time to go home, pick up my camera, and go back to watch the sparrowhawk. I stayed there for almost 1 hour, swerving people on the other side of the street, to let the sparrowhawk eat... He seemed to tolerate my presence there and infact this picture was taken from a distance of 4-5 meters.
