Morning On Squam

My first ever post is taken at dawn on Squam Lake in the mountains of NH. Squam Lake was called Keeseenunknipee by the Algonquin Native Americans, which meant “the Goose Lake in the Highlands." Squam has managed to maintain its pristine and undeveloped landscape thanks to an active conservation policy over the past 50 years, and due to the rugged mountain terrain that made settlement occur much slower + later than other areas of New England.
