field of tulips

It had a fairly unique experience that allowed for this photo to be taken while at the botanical garden in Boothbay, Maine. I remember wanting to take some macro studies of several tulips at once. But I was getting frustrated because my equipment was not giving me the depth of field I needed when placing the lens ultra close to the subject. Some time into my attempts, I meet another photographer shooting nearby. After sharing my frustration, he lent me his lens, which happened to solve my issue completely. Not only did it have a sufficient depth of field while close to the flowers, it also had an an exceptional adjustable macro focus... For the life of me, I can no longer remember the name or brand of the lenses with these capabilities I so loved. I just remember looking into them shortly after the photo was taken and finding them out of my price range. It was sure fun to use though.
