I grew up and still live (most of the time) in Oxfordshire, UK. My interest in nature stems from my childhood which was spent in the countryside, cycling, climbing the trees and generally being a small boy in a small village. My interest in photography comes from that same period experimenting with my old point and click and sometimes surprising myself with the results that came back from the chemist. I left school, got a job and pretty much stopped taking photographs.
In 2004 my wife and I took a career break during which time we travelled extensively and to avoid being weighed down with films I bought a digital camera. I started to remember some of the things about light, aperture and exposure that I had accidentally learnt as a child and started getting results that I thought were good. After a year I bought a new camera with more resolution and full manual controls, some of the pictures here are from this camera. More recently I upgraded again to a digital SLR . The latest images on the site are from this camera.
I am currently staying in New York State trying to take great photographs, learning all the time and once again back in the countryside in the environment that I love though this time with less tree climbing.
