In my photography, I strive to capture the dramatic light and vibrant colors that are often present in nature. Much of my photography is centered around Florida wildlife and scenics, since I live in Vero Beach, FL. I also enjoy taking photos of my hometown, Wilmington, Delaware, particularly the Brandywine River State Park. I have a Ph.D. in Zoology from Duke University, and this background helps me to better understand my subjects. My first serious camera was a Nikon FE2, and I have since moved to digital. My photographs have appeared in magazines such as Small Craft Advisor and Our State: Down Home in North Carolina, and books such as "The Florida Keys: A Photographic Portrait."
