Tom hails from Phoenix ("The Valley of the Sun"), Arizona, USA. Recently, Tom has turned his photographic attention almost exclusively to avian and to dragonfly photography. In past years, Tom has been employed at various times as a freelance photographer, an aerial photographer, a forensic and scientific photographer, and has worked in various professional photo-finishing labs as a custom darkroom and film processing technician.
Currently, Tom has shed himself of the 9 to 5 work-a-day world and devotes his time and energies to chronicling the birdlife and dragonflies of his native Sonoran Desert. Projects underway include photographing dragonflies for an illustrated book on the dragonflies of the Sonoran Desert, "Winged Jewels of the Sonoran Desert", and photographing all of the species of birds that inhabit or visit the Gilbert Water Ranch and Riparian Preserve in Gilbert, Arizona, USA.
