Known as The Barefoot Contessa (TBC) since 1970, I have been photographing with a passion since I got my first camera at age eight.
Thirty-five years and several career changes later, I turned to photography full time and was soon published in a variety of coffee table books, international magazines, corporate advertising and brochures, and my work was in private collections world-wide.
I also led adventures, including canoe trips down National Wild and Scenic Rivers north of the Arctic Circle in Alaska, under Barefoot Contessa Adventures, always with a photographic element so clients could go home with better photographs of their once-in-a-lifetime trip.
When I met my husband, we joined our photography businesses into Zann and Pinkerton Photography, but are now pretty much retired from commercial work as long-time working pros. Instead, we now share our knowledge of, passion for, and experience in the field of photography.
My first love has always been the outdoors, and I love showing our participants special places I have found over the years and sharing my knowledge of nature, art, and photography in our
Barefoot Contessa Photo Adventures and watching photographers grow under our tutelage.
