I got my first camera when I was graduating from the 9th grade. I loved to take photos of my family and at the zoo but I could never afford to get the equipment needed to really pursue nature photography especially fauna and birds. As digital photography came of age I found myself in a position to be able to take the kinds of nature photographs I had always wanted to and fell back in love with photography and even more in love with nature. Photographing nature makes me really pay attention to it. Just in the last year I have seen things I would have never thought I could including a mom badger with her two pups playing fierce games at their burrow, sherbert colored finches flocking at Sandia Crest, and squeeky little pika building haystacks to feed them through the cold of winter. Photography has awakened in me a passion to see and record with photos as much of nature as I can and I look forward to the adventures that pursuit will surely bring. Nature photography has given me a purpose to go forth and live. I want to share my passion with others and hopefully help to ignite a similar fire in them. The more we watch and explore nature the more we understand ourselves.
