My photography embraces anything in nature, from the grand landscape to the intricate macro and from flora to fauna. I am continually drawn to the mountain regions of the Rockies in the west and the Appalachian of the east and travel to each annually. I reside in Owensboro, Kentucky with my wife Robin. Early on, my father instilled the love and respect of the land in me with our many explorations in Kentucky. I have always been an avid outdoorsman. From as far back as I can remember, I have had an appreciation for the beauty of the earth, the wildlife among us and have always felt an urgent responsibility to help protect and preserve it. At a very young age I can remember having a scene in front of me and feeling a need to capture and share my vision with others somehow. Photography became the how when in 1996 I purchased a 35mm point and shoot camera and the passion took off.
I currently create my images of nature and landscapes in 35mm format with a Nikon system and Medium format with Pentax 67ii on Fuji films. My images have been showcased in Nature Photographer & Camping Life Magazines. Photography gives me the opportunity to share what I see in the natural world. Places that others will never have the opportunity to experience the grandeur. My hope is that my images will raise awareness of the beauty that surrounds us and the responsibility we all have to protect and preserve the earth's natural beauty and wildlife.
I hope that through my vision, creativity and techniques that I have done justice to the wild and magnificent places that I have photographed. Join me on a few of my journeys while you browse my images. Feel the solitude and the tranquility that I experience when behind the camera. Then do what you can to help in preserving Mother Earth’s great gifts of beauty to us.
