I have been a keen nature watcher for most of my 50 odd years. The first 35 years of my working life were spent in fisheries and countryside management. During this time I learnt a lot about the natural world and appreciate its education and enjoyment value. I firmly believe that the future health and well-being of the human race will very much depend on us all maintaining a close contact with the wildlife on our doorstep.
A recent change in circumstances has given me an opportunity to re-establish my links with wildlife and I have chosen to do this through photography. My years of watching and working with wildlife has given me a head start in getting close enough to photograph it.
I began my new passion in February 2005 when I bought a Canon 20D and 300mm telephoto lens. I haven't looked back since.
